Toyota RAV4 Interior
Toyota has a knack for loading their vehicles up with modernized, intuitive features that make your driving experience more enjoyable. If you’re curious to find out what these types of features are, read through this Toyota RAV4 interior review. We’ll be discussing specifications such as the interior measurements, infotainment technology, and style.
Interior Dimensions & Measurements
When you enter the cabin of the Toyota RAV4, the amount of available passenger room and cargo space is appealing. The cabin is spacious, comfortable, and adds a bit of style and convenience for its driver and passengers.
For example, the headroom in the front row measures 37.7 inches and 39.5 inches in the second row. As for legroom, the front row space is 41 inches, and the second row is 37.8 inches. There’s also plenty of shoulder room so nobody feels squished on long car rides. The front shoulder room is 57.8 inches and the second row is 56.4 inches, while there’s 54.3 inches of hip room for the front-row passengers and 47.7 inches of hip room for passengers in the second row.
Finally, you can fit everyone’s luggage in the trunk easily thanks to 37.6 cubic feet of cargo space. The second row seats include the 60/40 split rear bench. This allows the seats to be partially folded, by 60% or 40%, so you can make room for longer cargo materials while still retaining some passenger seating. However, if you fold those second-row seats down, the cargo volume expands to an impressive 69.8 cubic feet.
Interior Style & Comfort
The interior of the Toyota Rav4 comes standard with fabric-trimmed seating surfaces for the five passengers on board. However, the varying trim levels do offer some additional style and comfort options that you can select. The available SofTex®-trimmed seating surfaces are a synthetic leather that add more luxury style, but unlike leather, it’s easier to clean and doesn’t absorb heat from the sun while parked.
The RAV4 also offers different stitching for the SofTex® seats. There’s the sporty blue stitching which comes standard on the Adventure trim. Heating and ventilation are available for added comfort during the hot/cold travels.
Infotainment & Connectivity
The advanced infotainment technology found in the Toyota Rav4 turns each routine trip to the grocery store into an entertaining adventure. The vehicle includes the Entune™ 3.0 Audio system, which includes a 7-inch touchscreen display that’s accessible through touch or through voice commands thanks to the enhanced voice recognition that the screen is paired with.
This system also includes the Toyota Connected Services, which includes Safety Connect® with a 3-year trial and Wi-Fi Connect® that’s offered with a 6-month trial. The Entune™ 3.0 system also comes with Apple CarPlay®, which is a component that helps integrate your smartphone into the vehicle’s touchscreen to provide you direct access to your phone’s apps, features, media, and contacts.
Of course, the infotainment system can easily be upgraded with the varying trim level options. To start, there’s the Entune™ Audio Plus with JBL® with Clari-Fi®. This system comes with an 8-inch touchscreen display and adds HD Radio™ to the vehicle’s media options, as well as a 3-month trial subscription to SiriusXM® Satellite Radio. As for the audio system, it comes loaded with 11 JBL® speakers including a subwoofer.
Drivers looking to head off on an adventure into the unknown may want to consider selection the optional Entune™ 3.0 Premium Audio with Dynamic Navigation and JBL® with Clari-Fi®. This package comes fully loaded with media options to add some enjoyment and entertainment to your trips. This system also adds four USB charging ports. However, the biggest appeal to this package is the Dynamic Navigation (offered with a 3-year trial).
This system includes Dynamic POI Search, which finds Points Of Interest along your way, including restaurants, gas stations, rest stops, and even attractions. The system also includes Destination Assist Connect, which features a live person providing directions and destinations, which is available 24 hours a day.
Additional Interior Features
The connectivity discussed in the past section is complemented by the various convenient features found in the cabin of the RAV4. A major convenience is the steering wheel-mounted controls, which makes it easier to select a different station/song, raise the audio levels, or activate the cruise control or driver-assistance features.
A good example is the 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory function and power lumbar support that blends comfort and convenience. Another worthwhile addition is the driver and front passenger heated seats and heated steering wheel.
If you decide to go with the florescent ambient footwell lighting option, your interior will dazzle in the darkness. The unique doorsill protectors and unique floor mats also add a level of refinement. The vehicle also includes the soft-touch dashboard for a bit more comfort and style to the cabin.

Interior Safety Features
The dashboard-mounted Entune™ 3.0 screen doubles as the integrated backup camera with projected path. This feature switches over to your vehicle’s rear point-of-view when you’re set in reverse. Not only will it provide you with a better perspective from the license plate, but the projected path component will show you where your vehicle will end up based on the angle of your wheel so you can perfect your rear park job.
