2018 Prius: A Striking Exterior
There’s virtually no way to mistake the 2018 Toyota Prius, as its distinctive exterior is recognized the world over. A lot of that comes down to the striking shape of the head- and taillights. The sharply angled headlights feature Bi-LED elements, as do the available integrated fog lights and accent lights.
In the rear, the angular shape and length of the LED taillights complete the stylish look of the Prius. Not only do the LED lights turn heads and give other drivers something to look at, but they last longer and run more efficiently than traditional bulbs, contributing to the Prius’ air of efficiency.
Impressive Fuel Economy
The Toyota Prius runs on a hybrid powertrain, including an electric motor and a 1.8L I-4 engine. The system produces a net horsepower of 121 along with 105 lb-ft of torque for a ride that takes city streets in stride and can even handle highway driving.
Of course, the real reason shoppers turn to the Prius is fuel economy. The base-trim Prius One gets an EPA-estimated 54 city and 50 highway MPG, some truly impressive figures that may have you stopping to refuel just a couple times a month.1 The lighter Prius Two Eco is even less thirsty with an EPA-estimated 58 city and 53 highway MPG.2
Cargo Bay: An Easy-to-Load Trunk
It’s hard to find a compact car as cargo-friendly as the 2018 Prius. Behind the rear seats, you’ll find 24.6 cubic feet of cargo volume in most trims. The Prius Two Eco, Four, and Four Touring trims have a little bit extra with 27.4 cubic feet.
You can take even more along for the ride—especially longer and bulkier items—by taking advantage of standard 60/40 split-folding rear seats. With the rear seatbacks down, you’ll have up to 65.5 cubic feet at your disposal—plenty of space to store beach gear, paddles, sports bags, and more.
Meanwhile, the convenient hatch liftgate reveals a wide opening, helping you load and unload large items easily. Not only is this trunk spacious, but it’s simple to access, too!
